Teenage son thinks treasure hunt was awesome!

The treasure hunt party was great; my 16 year old son said it was an awesome party. All the kids came dressed in costume as well as the adults! The hunt took about 1.5 hours to complete. The clues lead to a compass and spade, the compass lead to a treasure map, and the map then lead to the treasure that was buried. When they dug up the chest it was wrapped in chains and locked, and a clue giving them a hint as to where they could find the key, which was hidden in another chest. Being a pirate party, there were several chests for them to look through, but it was in the cake which was shaped like a chest.

We served jerk chicken and shrimp before the hunt, they did the hunt, then ate cake, opened the chest, then played capture the flag in the dark (they had on glow stick necklaces). Everyone had a grand time!! Thanks for your ideas.

Cub scout camp with treasure hunt activity

Dear Nikki,

I will be running a week long cub scout day camp this summer for about 100 boys ages 7-11, in Toms River, New Jersey. With the camp theme being 'Pirates', I thought your treasure hunt game would make a fun addition to my program. I'm only in the initial planning stages, but I think I am going to incorporate it into the sports program, and have the children accomplish feats of skill at different stations each day in order to receive one of 5 map pieces. On Friday when they receive the final piece of the map they will be able to hunt for their prize. You have some great tasks in your program, most of which I expect to use, adding in some scout skills like specific knots, or fire building, maybe even first aid skills. As I said, I'm just starting but what I've read so far I like!

Take care,

Lisa Lockwood, New Jersey USA

Treasure hunt for family reunion

I love how you have the treasure hunt setup. I'll be using it at a family reunion that I'm hosting this summer. There'll be a bunch of people in their teens and older. I think it'll be a great activity for everyone to participate in!

You've done a fantastic job setting it up to work for just about any scenario. Thanks again for your assistance! I'll be sure to recommend this product to others and I'll let you know how it goes at the family reunion.

Hi Nikki,

We live in the USA, in Moore, OK. The party is this Saturday the 23rd.

It is a surprise birthday party for my son who turned 13 last Sunday.

There will be mostly 13 to 14 year olds but a few younger and some older siblings at the party, and of course aunts and uncles to help drive for the scavenger hunt.

I have read over the planner and am trying to decide which one I want to do. I really like the one they have to find something for each letter of the alphabet.

Thank you,

Huge success scavenger hunt

I had the scavenger hunt last Friday. It was a huge success considering I put it together in 3 days with the help of your documents. The hunt was at a Community park with a huge playground area. The kids and parents had a great. The teacher appreciated the thank you cards.

This weekend I'm doing another one for my son's birthday pool party.

Thanks!

Scavenger hunt at Wal-Mart

Nikki hi,

The Scavenger Hunt at Wal-Mart was very fun. I had my co-workers running from one end of the store to the other. The best thing.. I had them pushing each other in shopping carts outside in the Wal-Mart parking lot and video taping each other. We even had them take pictures with Wal-Mart employees.

They said the Scavenger Hunt was really fun and really appreciated the work that I put into this event.

Thanks,

Far too busy to work out scavenger hunt by myself

HI, Nikki

Thank you for your reply, it was very helpful. I decided to purchase your product, I'm under the gun to create a fun bday party for my 10 year old daughter so I'm going to shoot for the mall scavenger hunt. I'm sure your ebook will make my life much easier as I'm too busy to figure this one out by myself!

Yacht club treasure hunt

Nikki,

I own the Island Packet Sailboat dealership for the state of Florida. Every year all the owners of Island Packets gather for a Rendezvous that lasts Friday-Sunday. We have a race on Saturday but not everyone wants to participate, so we usually try to have other activities. I came across your game and thought it might be fun, especially with a Pirate theme since we?re sail boaters.

I see there could be actual digging involved! Our event will be held at a Yacht Club so I have to be careful that I don?t break any of their rules :)

Treasure hunt set up with little effort

We had a great time with the treasure hunt. Our big birthday party involves my two daughters, now 2 & 6, and their dad. All birthdays within 10 days. We had about a dozen kids into the treasure hunt. The booty in the treasure chest was used for goody bags for the young guests. The kids had a great time and were ready for cake afterwards. Between the bounce house, riding a real horse (we have a friend who brought one), and the treasure hunt the kids were totally worn out. Then it became Dad's party, and the adults had a great time also. We did a treasure hunt for dad, and he was completely confused (we meant to do that) and had a great time.

It was wonderful that I was able to set this up with very little effort. By setting it up so that it doesn't matter if something goes wrong, everyone wins - everyone enjoyed it. I received lots of compliments on how great the party was. I look forward to using this on other occasions, as well as when the kids are just bored. Thanks for your efforts - which saved me from making them.

Clues lead to treasure in buried chest

Hi Nikki,

We had our treasure hunt last Friday. It was a big success. I added some ending clues so the boys would have to walk paces in various directions to find the treasure (actual gold Sacagawea dollars) buried in four separate chests. It took some time and thinking to set up for four groups of three kids and all starting at different locations and ending in four different locations. But it worked wonderfully. It helped me get started and easy to add various twists to it.

I ordered two, different age groups, games. I will be using the younger game in October. It'll be fun. Thanks

Christian family treasure hunt for teenage party

Hello Nikki,

We are planning a Masquerade Ball for our daughter Abbi's 16th birthday and thought your treasure hunt game would be a good activity and would blend well with our theme.

We are a conservative Christian family and will be inviting the teenage sons and daughters of other Christian families and we wanted to make sure your game would be appropriate for our gathering. We had previously ordered a party game online (from a different site) that was described as a teen version, however, once we downloaded the game we realized there was too much material in it that violated Biblical principles so we could not use it. Unfortunately, the person we ordered it from would not give us a refund. It was not a treasure hunt. I think your treasure hunt will be much more suitable for our needs and more adaptable for a 'dress-up' party.

We want this birthday party to be something Abbi can look back on with glad memories and for it to be something we can all feel good about.

I appreciate your taking time to respond to my email.

Sincerely,

Patricia Smith, Oklahoma USA

Family house party treasure hunt

Hi Nikki,

I haven't been through the book completely, but I will let you know about my 'party'. Every year, we rent a house with friends for a week at a time with our families. This year we will be in Lake George, NY in the third week of August. There will be seven adults and seven children (from 6 yrs old to 10 years old).

Since I am not familiar with the house or the area, I believe it will be difficult for me to completely plan the event prior to being there. I also had not thought about having players set up at different stations to ensure that the puzzle / code is solved. I had thought that I might have them all be timed to see who could solve it the fastest for the win.

I thought I would have a chest with a combination lock on it that each team would have to try to find the combination at different points on the lake so that it wouldn't be a mystery where the treasure was but a contest to open the treasure the quickest. I will read your book and get back to you within a couple of weeks.

Thanks for your concern and emails!

Treasure Hunt saves a lot of studying and thinking!

Hi! Nikki!

I will be using the treasure hunt for a neighborhood party and also the magic trick and party games at our camping reunion at the beach in August. You have saved my brain a lot of study and thinking. Thanks again for your help.

I have used your treasure hunt game twice for children 8 and under. They loved it. The clues made them think and the adults assisting them enjoyed the hunt as well. I'm sorry I don't have pictures but I will use the game again and send you some. It's a wonderful way to surprise a young guest coming to visit. A great icebreaker. Your games always make me look so clever

Treasure hunt delighted every single guest

I used your treasure hunt for my best friend's 40th birthday party. I did not know most of the people that came; so, I was a little nervous about pulling the whole thing off. I purchased your delightfully easy-to-implement treasure hunt only about ten days before the party.

We all had so much fun! The guests were laughing constantly and couldn't wait to reach the actual treasure. There were groups of her friends from all different backgrounds--many of whom who seemed reluctant to mix with the others. The treasure hunt was so wonderful that new friendships were formed, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses were exchanged, and my husband and I are enjoying a reputation for being the best party givers ever.

We received so many compliments, you just would be amazed. My friend for whom the party was given was at her office the next day; and, she said the people that had elected not to come were very disappointed when they heard how much fun everyone else had. One young lady upon leaving said to me that she would like to be invited to the next party I have. I had to laugh as I had never met her prior to my friend's party.

It has been nearly a month; and, we are still the talk of the town so to speak. We live in one of those areas where everyone knows everyone else's business whether they know you or not. I imagine you should be receiving a lot of hits from the folks in Salinas, California so they too can give the greatest party ever.

Not only did your program delight every single last party guest; but, it was easy for me to arrange as well. You have a remarkable product that will serve well for years as it is true quality. A rare find today! Thank you so very much.

Harry Potter themed treasure hunt

Thank you for this excellent product. We had the party on Saturday and it was fantastic. I live in France so had to translate it and we did a Harry Potter theme. For the code, we sent the kids to a computer where they typed in the code and then a PowerPoint presentation sent them to the kitchen for the treasure. It was really brilliant fun and I know we'll be doing it all again soon!

Treasure hunt all ready to go

I downloaded everything yesterday and now I just have to hide all the clues in the backyard now. It's an outside treasure hunt for a 14 year old's princess party. I'll let you know how it goes. I'm thinking of adding some scavenger hunt elements to the hunt. Like finding something before solving the next riddle. A few of those riddles are going to be brain stumpers!

Still talking about treasure hunt after school holidays

Hi Nikki,

We had a great party. The games we played at the party was like Amazing Race. They had to play a game to get a clue. (They collect all seven clues and put it together to find the treasure). I made passport for everyone. We traveled around the world to all seven continents. They had different ways to travel around the world. (bike, Wheel bower, skates, etc.) When they collected all the clues they had to find the treasure box that was buried.

We had two teams. I know the kids loved it we had it before our spring break, and yesterday was the first day back and they were still talking about it.

Thanks for the help and ideas.

Treasure hunt fiord two parties - Sunday School and medical workers

Hi Nikki,

I have actually purchased the Treasure Hunt game for two parties. The first one involves my Sunday School class (I am one of the leaders, not in the age group of 18 to 30!!!). The class is College Aged Young Single Adults from age 18 to 30. We are planning a retreat weekend and thought this game would be perfect for them. We are always looking for games for that age group.

The second group is for a state convention for pulmonary and vascular medical workers. Their meeting is in April but the lady in charge for this year's event wanted to do a treasure hunt and have me come up with the ideas. When I saw your website it looked perfect.

The first group will probably do their thing outside, the second group will be inside at an Embassy Suites. Any help you can give me will be much appreciated.

The Sunday School group will be themed from the Bible, probably from the Old Testament.

The second group would need something with heart and lung theme.

Thanks for the follow up!!

Pirate treasure hunt plans for daughter's 11th birthday

Nikki, I am doing the pirate treasure hunt for my daughter's 11th birthday. We are located in Leawood, Kansas which is a suburb of Kansas City. We are having twelve guests at the party and are also having a pirate dinner. The party is on Oct.7. I am in the process of getting the game ready. It sounds great!

I was going to come up with the game myself when I found your website when I was looking for ideas. I sure was relieved to find your game. It is exactly right. The only thing I am going to change is the challenge with the costume pieces because the girls are going to come to the party in costume already. I think we will do a challenge involving a message in a bottle. Thanks for the great ideas,

Treasure hunt for residential summer camps

Hello Nikki

Thanks for the email. Very happy with all the ideas & info, very clear.

Will be running 2 residential summer camps in August 2006.

6-11 year olds- 40+ kids

12 - 14 year olds 60+ kids

We are a registered charity here in Ireland, an interdenominational team of Christians working with kids from north & South ( Catholic, Protestant and also ethnic minorities).

We have being doing this since 1986 and this will be my 20th Year!!!!! Where does the time go?

I no longer run the games workshops (as the team have younger & more energetic members than me), But I still organize the EVENTS programme which involve the entire camp all at the same time, i.e. Fancy Dress, Treasure Hunts, Live Drama on stage, Quizzes.

So I'm looking forward to adapting the Treasure hunt ideas you have sent, and I will send you some photos of how we get on.

Dodging thunderstorms to play treasure hunt

Hi Nikki, our treasure hunt at our spring campout went very well, even though we had to dodge a few thunderstorms. Our scout and parents really enjoyed it. It was different and it was fun. Which treasure hunt for annual homecoming event

Nikki,

Your product sounds terrific, but I'm at a loss as to which version to purchase. Our volunteer fire department has an annual Homecoming (fund-raiser) and I'm planning a scavenger hunt. The age range could be 10 to 18. Would the 'kids' option be too young if I split the group or would I be able to modify per your examples?

Sincerely,

Bethany Miller

Arbonne Independent Consultant

-------------

Hi Bethany

If you are referring to our Treasure Hunt Party Game, I suggest the adult / all ages version would work fine for a group of 10 -18 year olds. We do also have a scavenger hunt product.

There are some differences between our major ebook products: Treasure Hunt and Scavenger Hunt. The Treasure Hunt Party Game is based around six locations, at each location, the teams are required to complete a challenge or puzzle in order to win pieces of a clue. The clue pieces when put together will lead them to the treasure map and then onto the treasure. The Scavenger Hunt game is about collecting items or completing tasks on a list. Teams compete to complete the list, or to earn points in a given timeframe. The game style is your choice.

Best wishes

Nikki

Postponing town treasure hunt to next year

As our complicated lives roll on ...we have had to postpone the treasure hunt/ birthday party until next year for my daughter. She will be 13 next year. She is thinking of adding boys to the mix so the hunt will be perfect for this party. I'm sure it will be highly successful with all the time I have to plan! (If I don't wait until the last minute.) We live in a very small but attractive and vibrant small town, we're planning on using the down town (about two blocks long) as the environment for the hunt. Our town closes down after 5:30pm, so we should have the place to ourselves. I am an artist and love the latitude of creating this hunt with props, etc. I will stay in touch and if you have any ideas to help stimulate a clever hunt including shop fronts as the theme let me know . Thanks for all your e-mails, I look forward to keeping you posted and asking questions, if I may, as I do a re-creation of the hunt for our town.

Teams wanted to continue treasure hunt challenges after treasure was won!

Hi Nikki, We had the party the day after we ordered your planner. It was my son's 12th birthday party and he complained that he didn't want to play any games, but I didn't want 10 children running through the house for 3 hours. Our party was held in an old convent in Pennsylvania, USA. The guests were aged from 6 to 35. We had a Halloween theme, since Shane's birthday is October 31st. The guests had to search for Uncle's Seymour's Last Will & Testament.

We followed all your suggestions for the challenges, teaming older players with younger ones. The puzzle pieces led the players to the chapel (we have a real chapel with stained glass windows and oak pews in our home), where we had hidden the Last Will & Testament with directions to Uncle Seymour's most treasured worldly possessions. My two sons, my husband and I dressed in Halloween costumes and supervised the rooms. Even after one team had located the treasure, the others were having so much fun that they asked if they could complete the remaining challenges (the one with the peas seemed to be everyone's favorite). Everyone had a great time, but what made me happiest was that my son kept thanking me the next day, telling me how much he loved me for throwing such a great party for him. Thank you for the great plans - they were well worth the money! Gratefully,

Review of the treasure hunt party last Saturday

Dear Nikki,

I wanted to give you a review of our party last Saturday. It was a real hit, all the boys had a great time. We had 8 boys ages 11 and 12 over for our twin?s 11th birthday party. We gave instruction to bring their bikes to the party as they were to search within our housing development for clues, the map, and treasure. The invitations were hand delivered on brown paper sacks to look like treasure maps.

We included many of your games; Pea and straw, toilet paper wrap, word puzzle, rope walk, we added a name the landmark game with pictures of US national landmarks as an educational station.

Our map was hidden by our community pool under a bench in a poster tube. It led them to an undeveloped lot that had 3 piles of dirt. There was an actual X taped onto one of the piles of dirt. We spray painted a Styrofoam cooler black and glued a latch for the combination lock to hold.

The boy?s party favors were in the treasure chest which included a flashlight, movie gift card and some candy!

My wife and I did the whole thing with each of us taking one team (4 boys).

I?ve attached a link where you can view the photos we took.

Thanks again for the great kit as it made the process very easy. We had a fun time in planning the whole event. The combination twist is a very clever thing!

Best regards,

Sailing party treasure hunt

Hi Nikki,

Thank you for checking in with me. I have read the scavenger hunt book all the way through. We are having the party this weekend and the theme is the Pirate Treasure Hunt. Big party treasure hunt 2 days after the wedding!

Hi Nikki:

I am planning a hunt for my fianc? for his 51st birthday. We are having family (ages6+- 73) and of course his contemporaries. We should total about 40 people. He is a man with everything so when friends were telling us of cache hunts I got inspired and started my search. We live in a 15,000 sq foot home on a mountain top in Huntsville AL so many places to hide things.

His birthday is in July right after our wedding which is two days earlier so obviously lots on my plate.

I am sure I will have many questions and am grateful for this contact with you-very kind.

Scavenger hunt hen party

Our scavenger hunt was great. Most enjoyable item was definitely best freebies from Selfridges make-up dept - they came back with bag loads! All opportunities for extra points were definitely taken up and therefore having a digital camera was great as we had the hen with groom and best men of another wedding party, the hen sitting in some ambassador's car, the team doing maypole dancing etc etc.

I was incredibly nervous about the whole thing, but it was a roaring success and turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable day. The only thing I regret is that I couldn't really take part!

Children's pastor designs treasure hunt

I did a treasure hunt last year for the kids at my church (I am the children's pastor). It was easy to use with your format. I am hoping to do something again this summer, but I want to make it even better! I look forward to any tips you have for me. Thanks

Treasure hunt birthday gets 100% rsvp

Hello Nikki,

The Treasure Hunt I had for my son's ninth birthday was incredible fun. It was worth paying to download your guide to give me ideas for how to structure the hunt. It ended up being complicated but inexpensive compared to other activities like laser tag. Anyway, it was a huge success. We had a total RSVP response from his class probably because the party promised to be different. These guys go to birthdays constantly so anything different sticks out.

It was worth the cost to download, and I appreciate your help in making a great and memorable party.

Daughter hasn't stopped talking about treasure hunt party

We held our treasure hunt yesterday for my daughter's 8th birthday. It went great and everyone had a wonderful time. One of the mom's told me later that night that her daughter hadn't stopped talking about it! They liked the mummy and the pea challenges as well as the tightrope and the binoculars.

Thanks Again - It was great!

Hen party treasure hunt with bond girls theme

Hi

I am pleased to say that I have received the treasure hunt party planner downloads without any problems and from first glance it looks like it will be very helpful in helping me plan my event.

I am organising a treasure hunt around the island of Guernsey for a friends Hen Party. There will be around 15 people women between 20 - 30 and the Treasure Hunt will most likely have a mission impossible/Bond girls theme.

regards

Family reunion treasure hunt

Hi Nikki,

Thanks for offering with ideas, etc. I will keep your offer in mind. I will probably try to work everything out myself first and then maybe run it by you for any feedback. I am sure it will be a fun time: family reunion, ~30 people, mix of adults and families, at sister's home in rural Wisconsin, plenty of woods and indoor space.

regards,

Clues in instant treasure hunt are perfectly balanced

Hello Nikki, We had our party yesterday and the treasure hunt was a lot of fun. I thought I made a mistake ordering instant treasure hunt but tailored it to my needs and graphics and the kids and parents were impressed. My nine year olds thought some clues were too easy and others a little confusing but not confusing enough to make you give up. That's a perfect balance in my opinion.

Thank you for the product and I will use again in home treasure hunts since that is what this particular product is tailored for ... the Instant Treasure Hunt was 'very' easy to use and tailor to your personal needs. The children had a great time running around the lake and many stated it was the best birthday party they've attended. I was surprised at the ease of setting up and the excitement it caused for all the children at the party. Thank you very much for your help and creativity. Take care and Thank you!

Will use treasure hunt book for years to come

Hi Nikki,

The party went well. There were ten, 11 and 12 year old girls. I stayed with the instructions in your book almost exactly as I downloaded your book the morning of the party. Every challenge and puzzle was perfect for their age and ability and I had every prop around the house.

I am sure I will be able to use your book for years to come.

Thanks,
