Still recuperating from Halloween treasure hunt

Nikki,

It is Sunday and we are recuperating from the Halloween Party we hosted for our 10 year old son. The boys loved the treasure hunt! Thank you.

I had the boys eat and drink gross looking candy ( a bug, blood and vomit). I also bought 2 paint guns (they are manual and without CO2 or battery) and had them shoot at a skeleton that I painted on a piece of plywood (very easy). I am considering an adult party next year. Any advice? Thank you,

Patty Lamp, Illinois USA

Pirate treasure hunt for 40th wedding anniversary

Hi, Nikki! I have received the party planner The party will take place in Concord, North Carolina, USA, and it will be on August 5th 2006. The occasion is our 40th wedding anniversary party. The age range, I think, will be 'no kids', but I'm not sure about that, yet. And the theme of the treasure hunt is your pirate theme! We think it's going to be a lot of fun!

Scavenger hunt in Mall for 13th birthday party

Hi Nikki -

I have found the e-book extremely helpful in planning my daughter?s 13th birthday party.

Our party is taking place in Phoenix, Arizona, USA

The party is the weekend of October 7, 2006

The special occasion is my daughter's 13th birthday

The age range is 12-14

We are doing a Mall Hunt as a local mall most of the girls are not familiar with to add extra challenge. I have broken it into three different types - things to take photos of, questions to find answers to and items to collect.

We are checking in to a hotel with a water park, going for dinner to Sweet Tomatoes and then to the mall for the HUNT. After our return to the hotel - I have some games planned for the girls to play - then they can do what they do at this age - talk all night. In the morning, we go to the water park following breakfast and then home around 2:00 PM. Everyone gets a party bag with body glitter, lotion, nail file, nail polish, body powder, etc.......

My daughter has chosen to not be a part of the planning so it will be a surprise to her as well as the girls invited. We are ALL excited about it.

I'm sure I will be referring back to the information in your book frequently over the next few years......

Thanks

Rebecca Ihori, Arizona USA

Treasure hunt is easy and cheaper option for fun party

It was a lot of fun. I was able to use 2 acres of land to do the games and made the treasure 2 blocks away in someone else's yard. It was so great. My son who is a little shy was the talk of the class on Monday with the kids saying it was the best party ever. Your program was exactly what I wanted. Someone to walk me through step by step. With 3 kids I don't have a lot of time to be creative and not a lot of money to have a birthday party out somewhere like Laser tag or Chucky Cheese. If you ever come up with other parties let me know. I also gave out you web address to others.

Fabulous treasure chest

Hi Nikki, Treasure Hunt was a hit, thanks. We had five stations that were in our back yard, front yard, neighbours and out in the kids hide-out in the bush behind our house. The treasure and the key (which was in an old gumboot) were hidden in the bush behind our house. When they had the treasure and the key they met in the hide-out to open the treasure. The treasure was filled with fake pearl necklaces, fake gold necklaces, glass stones (they were meant to be diamonds) and gold coins (chocolate filled). Thanks again

Treasure hunt party planner has great detail

I'm having a party for my daughter's 13th birthday party and she has invited boys which really threw me for loop when it came to deciding what activities to have to keep them all busy for 4 hrs. I could find no books at the library or bookstore that had the detail that you have in your treasure hunt planner.

Pirates of the Caribbean treasure hunt

Our treasure hunt was based on the pirates of the Caribbean II Dead Man?s Chest characters. It was a swarm of fun for all and a huge hit participants and watchers alike enjoyed the games and puzzles and the treasure at the end!! Thank you for the kit it was a big hit. A lot of work transforming it to my theme on the computer. But so worth it. We had three teams of 3-4 boys ages 11-14. Thanks again

Instant treasure hunt is used time and time again

Hi! Nikki!

I will be using the treasure hunt for a neighborhood party and also the magic trick and party games at our camping reunion at the beach in August. You have saved my brain a lot of study and thinking. Thanks again for your help.

I have used your treasure hunt game twice for children 8 and under. They loved it. The clues made them think and the adults assisting them enjoyed the hunt as well. I'm sorry I don't have pictures but I will use the game again and send you some. It's a wonderful way to surprise a young guest coming to visit. A great icebreaker. Your games always make me look so clever.

Looking forward to doing another treasure hunt

Just a quick note. It took about 2 hours for the boys to go through the stations and find the treasure - they had a lot of fun. I look forward to doing another treasure hunt for another party down the road.

Photo scavenger hunt for birthday

Hello Nikki

I have read the treasure hunt party games, its interesting but it has more work on it to do, but the scavenger hunt is great I really got good ideas, no regrets on this book for sure.

It will be my daughter birthday, and In our community and culture they don't celebrate bdays and such occasions, but I do for my family, so everyone always waits for my children's bdays.

I will be doing the scavenger photo hunt, that will be different and fun.

Next year the grown ups want to play treasure hunt too

Hi Nikki We finally completed our Treasure Hunt last week! We had so much fun -- thank you for the great kick-start!!! I ordered your Treasure Hunt software package way back in February.

Your software was just what I needed to get started, get me thinking about what I wanted to do -- and it was GREAT fun! Everyone, from kids to adults, had a great time! For me, it was like Christmas, having chosen wonderful presents for all -- and watching everyone Ooooh and Aaaah. My participants had a ball! Of course, now that everyone had so much fun, next year I have to come up with a game for EVERYONE -- the grownups want to play, too!!!

Ah, the challenge! We had great fun!

We had a fantastic time. Our Pirate themed treasure hunt party was a 'treasure!' The hunt was superb and the tools that you provided made it easy to customize to our group. The children loved it! I appreciate that you kept checking with us to make sure things were progressing well as we planned the event.

Again thanks!

Treasure hunt worked out so well and was so organized

Hi Nikki,

Our church had our treasure hunt this past weekend. It was a great success and so much fun. This was a family event so all ages were able to participate. We used cities in the Bible (Paul's Journey) as our stations, and challenges that Paul would have faced in these cities, some mental some physical. We have 60 people participate and everyone had so much fun and could not believe how well the treasure hunt worked out and how organized it was. Your planner kits was great I would recommend it to other churches and groups. Thanks for the help.

Treasure hunt was great success

Hi Nikki. The treasure hunt was a success. The treasure map was a lot of fun to do and really turned out great - we used the tea idea to age it and used a lighter to burn the edges. I'm going to save it as a keepsake for my kids. I would DEFINITELY do this again - I'm thinking of planning one for adults this summer.

Treasure hunt in the nude

Hi Nikki, You have a great product. We just might be your first customers to conduct our treasure hunt in the nude. Our events calendar had a kids' treasure hunt scheduled for Saturday afternoon. I used some of your ideas to design the hunt, but I am saving the full version for next season when we will have better attendance in the warm weather months. The kids (ages 5,6, & 9) loved it, and I can't wait to put on the full program next year. Thank you.

Kids were so into treasure hunt tasks

Hi Nikki,

Yes, we did have the treasure hunt and it was a lot of fun. It was for my daughter's 9th birthday and she had 12 guests. We had wished to play it outside but the weather did not cooperate so we stayed inside my house and garage area. It worked out fine to be inside.

The kids were so into the tasks. It was really fun for me to think up creative and fun things for them to do at each city. At one city they had to pick a teammate to be wrapped up in a whole roll of toilet paper. We had an obstacle course and I even through in some math problems to figure out.

For the treasure box I was able to find a bulk bag of gold/chocolate coins to mix in with other loot. It was great and I will definitely be using the plan again in the future.

Thanks for your help.

Pirate treasure hunt theme 'wins' over Halloween

Hello,

I did receive the party planner as well as the Halloween pack and the pirate pack as I wasn't sure which one I would do. After a vote from all the adult chaperone's, the pirate theme won out. We are planning the party in MI on Oct 28th. It will be a Halloween party for my son and his friends from middle school. The age range will be from about 8 (siblings of his friends) to about 15. We usually get about 25-30 kids each year so they expect us to top last years spectacle. Its gets harder each year as they get older and don't fall for 'kiddie games' anymore.

I have read the books thru and we are keeping few of the games suggested (scavenger hunt, flag creation and walking the plank). We are just adding 'features' to each of those three to slow them down a bit. Then I created 3 other games to replace the ones in the book that I know they wont like or will do so fast that they will be doubling up at the ports. So in an effort to not overwhelm my lovely adult volunteers, I need to keep them at each station for about the same time. The three new games should keep all ports on the same time scale (at least I hope it will).

Thanks for the great ideas, they got me going in the right direction. Overall I hope it goes over well.

Scavenger hunt for youth lock-in

Hi Nikki,

I have been able to get the scavenger hunt downloaded successfully and just briefly looked at, looks good.

My task is to organize a lock-in for youth ( appro. 100 grades7-12) at my church, my theme is mission impossible eluding to the fact that without Christ it is impossible to get into Heaven. I was planning to use some of your ideas to make a week long mission to be accomplished before they could get into the lock-in. This is probably going to be a very elaborate event (I hope I can pull it off) in early April.

Thanks

Surprise treasure hunters birthday party

Nikki,

I usually plan my kid's birthdays in advance. My daughter is turning 13 this year, and decided 'last minute' to throw her a surprise birthday party. All the girls attending the party will be between 13-15 years old. We are north of Denver, Colorado, USA.

She loves that show 'Treasure Hunters' so we decided a treasure hunt theme is what we would have. I began scouring the internet for treasure hunt information, as I had an idea of what to do. I found your website, bought the online 'book', and printed it (wow lots of pages). I was happy to find something I could get immediately, because of the time constraint.

After my daughter went to bed, my husband and I began reading through it. Wow! What wonderful ideas! We have decided on 7 different locations to hide the 'puzzle pieces' and activities, along with the clues to the next location. All outside, and the puzzle will tell them to go to the (community) pool to find the treasure. That way they can swim when they have found it.

Her party is on Saturday (which is only three days away), and we are so excited. I only have to buy a few things (chocolate gold coins, necklaces, bandanas, etc) for the party. Your book (so far) has been an asset to me.

I'll let you know how the party went.

Planning treasure hunt is as much fun as participating

We all had a great time on the Treasure Hunt. Memorial Day Weekend was all family and fourth of July will be all of our friends and their kids. We plan to do another treasure hunt then with some different challenges. (beer drinking, doughnut eating off a clothes line with no hands allowed and a few others). Planning it was as fun as being in it. It was a great time! Thanks Again!

Teenage girls are very keen on scavenger hunt party

We had the scavenger hunt party and the girls loved it! I have never seen 17 18 year olds change clothes from their dresses and high heels into jeans and sweats so quickly! It was amazing how competitive and creative in their searches they were! You provided a lot of great ideas I know we will use again. Thanks.

Pirate treasure hunt much better than competitor!

Thank you for your email. Our party was yesterday and it was awesome! This was by far the best party we've had and required the least effort from myself (because you completed the work)! I had began to research pirate party ideas a month before I ran across your product and was skeptical about spending the money due to I had purchased another 'kit' and was disappointed. I am so happy now we took a chance on your product; everyone was so impressed and the children had a blast!!!

PS- Your customer service is a very nice touch!! We really appreciate you!!!!

Treasure hunt on farm

Hi Nikki,

I held my treasure hunt at my son's birthday party at my moms house on a farm. We had adults and children ( youngest age 4) all play. I spaced out my stations a bit far ( the older ones got quite a workout!) but everyone had fun and enjoyed it! I am going to use it again for my son's grade 6 class at the end of the year party and we are going to do it in and around the school grounds.

Thanks

Please to find treasure hunts on Google

Hello Mrs. Wilson,

I was pleased to find your treasure hunt web-site through Google. I have been creating different games and activities for the past 6 years for my soon to be 11 year old, and my creativity seemed drained this year. When I came across your web-site, I thought of so many ways I could use your book and your ideas. I am going to try it on Dec. 2nd with my son and his friends, but also have three young daughters who would love it in the years to come. I am also a school teacher and thought I could use it with my students at school or even for a fun staff party. The ways to use this are endless, thank you for your hard work.

What a success the Halloween party was

Hi Nikki!

Well, let me tell you what a success our children/adult Halloween party was!!!!

Everyone (and I mean everyone) is still telling me how awesome the treasure hunt was. Last year we tried doing it ourselves, and even though the kids had fun running around our 5 acres, it could in NO WAY compare to this years!! Since we did have some difficulty with pay pal at first, it delayed our creative time, but thanks to your book, we pulled it off!

We're inspired to have an adult treasure hunt party next, it's such a great idea. I did give a couple of my friends your e-mail address...so hopefully you'll hear from them.

Good luck in the future.... Thanks again,

Company picnic and treasure hunt

Nikki,

We are planning a company picnic on July 30 of this year in Morrison, Illinois, USA. We usually have around 175 people there with ages ranging from 0-70. I'm sure not everyone will want to play, so everything should work out well.

I read the book over once on Friday, but today I will actually sit down with a committee and start planning.

Thank you for support!

Student treasure hunt on a Saturday night is much enjoyed.

We had our treasure hunt Sat night. It was great. The students enjoyed it and so did the adults that were working the different stations. I was so relieved to have something already complete and ready to use. It was user friendly. We changed the font and copied it onto brown aged paper and it looked so real. We had middle school age and college age. They all enjoyed it. We had the stations set up among a pirate town and they had to go through the town to complete. We used it to eliminate the teams to two and the two completed a treasure hunt that was extra. Thank you for such a good product.
